what is a sponsorship program?
Capital IDEA is the opportunity of a lifetime. Capital IDEA is an Academic Sponsorship program for low income adults wanting to get into a great career but unable to pay for the necessary training. Capital IDEA works with local employers to identify fast growing careers that pay a living wage and offer opportunity for growth. Once we identify the training and education level needed for these living wage careers, these careers are then added to our Sponsored Careers List.
Low income adults in Central Texas, meeting our qualifications, and wanting to get into any of Capital IDEA's Sponsored Careers, can apply to become a Capital IDEA sponsored participant. For participants, sponsorship means that Capital IDEA will identify the training steps needed for that individual to get into his or her specific career (this includes college level English as a second language, college preparation, and prerequisite courses.) Capital IDEA will pay the full cost for the participant's education from their first step to final step - graduation. This includes the cost for tuition, academic fees, and books. Additionally Capital IDEA offers placement assistance, emergency assistance, and for participants with children, Capital IDEA also assists with childcare expenses.
