English as a Second Language (ESL) Classes
Capital IDEA helps its participants become proficient in English. If you have little or no knowledge of English you will begin with our Basic ESL program and attend classes Monday through Friday from 8:30am – 12:30 p.m. Typically, students need to attend anywhere from 1 – 3 semesters dependent upon your progress. Once you have mastered Basic ESL, you will enroll in ACC's college-level ESL courses for approximately four(4) semesters. The amount of time you spend in ESL classes depends upon the level of English you begin with and the amount of time that you dedicate to your studies.
If you do not have a high school diploma, you may need to enroll in GED classes. After earning your GED, you will begin studying for your career.
