Members of this mailing list receive emailed electronic copies of our Orientation flyers each semester and occasionally also receive general updates about Capital IDEA.

Upon graduation, Capital IDEA participants are automatically added to this mailing list. If we missed you somehow, please feel free to add yourself by signing up on this list. You will receive quarterly emails asking for information on job openings at your company.

Capital IDEA Orientations are held three times a year in April, August and December. Members of this mailing list will receive notification of upcoming Orientations and be asked to sign up to volunteer at one or more of the scheduled Orientations. Volunteers help at the sign in desk, pass out information, speak (optional), and help answer questions after the presentation.

Members of this mailing list will be notified of speaking opportunities. Capital IDEA hosts and participates in a number of events throughout the year that call for Alumni guest speakers to share their stories. These can be small settings such as a few visitors to the Capital IDEA office, or large settings like our Celebration of Achievement. Alumni speakers should be comfortable speaking in front of an audience and willing to share some details of their life. We always respect your privacy and understand that you may want to omit some portions of your story. If you need help preparing your story, just ask! A staff member will gladly work with you to write and edit your story.

Do you golf? Each October Austin Asset Management hosts a charity golf tournament that benefits Capital IDEA. Graduates of Capital IDEA who golf are entered in the tournament for free - provided that they understand that they will be matched up with teams missing players on the day of the tournament. If all teams are complete Capital IDEA graduates will play together in foursomes. Members of the Putt for Progress Golfers mailing list will receive invitations to golf in the tournament. You don't have to be a highly experienced golfer but you should have your own golf clubs and be skilled enough to play on a professional course. www.puttforprogress.com

The mission of the Ambassadors outreach effort is to recruit minority men to Capital IDEA. This population is largely under-served in our community. Capital IDEA is committed to reaching out to this population and asks for your assistance in encouraging minority males in Central Texas to enroll in higher education. Members of this list will receive outreach information from Capital IDEA including Orientation flyers and some targeted outreach material.
