Capital IDEA is seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to lead our Development & Communications team. The Director of Development leads Capital IDEA’s efforts with private funders, manages relationships and reporting with public funders, and delivers on strategic goals. He or she leads the Development Team in identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding current and potential philanthropic supporters. He or she maintains strong working relationships with foundations, government entities, and corporations. He or she works closely with the Executive Director to develop and execute an achievable plan to meet both short- and long- term fundraising goals. In addition, he or she provides leadership and support to the Senior Communications Officer. Compensation is competitive and dependent on experience. Generous benefits include health and dental insurance, and paid time off.

Capital IDEA is an Austin-based nonprofit dedicated to lifting working adults out of poverty and into living wage careers through education. Partnering with Austin Community College, we provide a range of services designed to help low-income adult students succeed in school and enter high-paying, in-demand jobs. Since our founding in 1998, over 1,200 Central Texans have completed the program and moved their families out of poverty.

Join in the festivities and experience the joy with a holiday meal and good cheer at the annual H E B Feast of Sharing holiday dinner. The Feast of Sharing is the culmination of a year round commitment H E B makes to fighting hunger. In addition to a holiday meal, you can enjoy music, arts and crafts, kids activities, and even an appearance by Santa.

Big News – Paid Internships!

tech-laptop-txtCapital IDEA has some exciting news – our education partner, Austin Community College, has made 100 paid internships available for three Tech Career programs listed below. If you are on the fence about going back to school, consider this – training will now include a year of paid, real work experience. As with our other sponsored careers, Capital IDEA fully funds tuition, books and fees for qualified participants. Tech careers are taking off in Central Texas – you need a great job; employers need great people. Don’t miss this opportunity.

Software Testing | Computer Support | Network Administration
These three Tech Associate Degree programs are designed for individuals with little to no previous experience. Austin Community College has redesigned the first four courses to focus on building fundamental skills. We’ll cover program details at Orientation. You must attend an Orientation to apply.
