Computer-aided designers (or drafters) produce precise drawings or schematics using computer-assisted drafting systems (CAD). They often specialize in an area such as architecture, mechanics, civil engineering, or electronics. The drafter will need to understand the project and the goals of the engineers, builders, or fabricators to produce accurate drawings that capture the exact details of the project. They will also modify designs and drawings to correct problems as the project changes or moves forward.
